Alert Levels
WHO alert levels
Currently at Level 6, the pandemic phase, (for explanation of the WHO levels of alert click here).
 

UK alert levels-the UK is currently at level 2.
UK alert level 1: No cases in the UK            UK alert level 2:Virus isolated in the UK
UK alert level 3: Outbreak(s) in the UK        UK alert level 4: Widespread activity across the UK

General Guidance from NHS Direct for patients and the public:

1st        Visit the NHS Choices website (www.nhs.uk) for information and FAQs about Swine Flu.  There is also an online flu symptom checker on the NHS Direct website (www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk).

2nd       Ring the national Swine Flu Information Line (0800 1 513 513).  This provides pre-recorded information about Swine Flu.

3rd        Call the NHS Direct telephone service (0845 4647).  Callers with flu-like symptoms, who have internet access, will be asked to try our online flu symptom checker first. If necessary, they will be able to request a call back from an advisor.  Otherwise callers are asked to hold to speak to someone who can help.

 4th        Contact your GP over the phone. "
